HOW IT ALL STARTED

Established in in 2005, GHID is a contemporary interior design studio creating thoughtful, beautifully considered spaces that balance style, function and individuality. Working closely with our clients, we design interiors that feel effortless, refined, and genuinely connected to the way people live today. From concept to completion, our approach is collaborative, detail-driven, and focused on delivering spaces that are both timeless and distinctly personal.

MEET GABRIEL

Senior Designer

Before setting up her studio, Gabriel worked alongside her architect parents in their practice in Norfolk and later as Senior Designer at Plain English Design in London.

During this time Gabriel developed her skills in spatial design, architecture, drawing, and the importance of quality joinery & bespoke furnishings. Combined with her instinctive sense of proportion & confident use of colour, her ethos is simple: to design relaxed, comfortable spaces with a calm, pared-back aesthetic — homes that are both practical and beautiful.

OUR TEAM

Our team shares a commitment to creating homes that feel comfortable, beautiful, and deeply personal. We mix contemporary design with timeless principles, working with trusted collaborators whose craftsmanship and expertise help bring each project to life.

Designer of Soft Furnishings

Philippa Sedgwick is one of our trusted collaborators, creating all soft furnishings for GHID projects. Working with the finest fabrics, make-up materials, and hardware sourced from carefully selected mills and craftspeople, she produces beautiful handmade curtains, blinds, and other soft furnishings that combine traditional techniques with modern methods.

Passionate about her craft, Philippa approaches every project with creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional quality.

Interior Designer

Originally from Cape Town, Lisa relocated to London in 2014, working with several high-end interior design studios on prestigious international projects before moving to Deal and joining GHID.

She has a natural flair for interiors and describes her aesthetic as a balance between the off-key and the orderly — embracing asymmetry, texture, and character while thriving in detail and consistency. Lisa also maintains her own practice as an artist.
