BIJOU GEORGIAN COTTAGE

This tiny Georgian cottage in SW London, home to long‑standing clients, was updated and extended to create a new modern kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. In the original part of the house, rooms were redecorated with historic colours and bespoke joinery to honour the Georgian architecture. The new extension, designed by Bentone Evans Architects, is flooded with natural light and opens onto a small garden beyond. Polished concrete floors contrast beautifully with bespoke joinery in soft greys and inky blue‑black, while the snug laundry room is tucked beneath the stairs and divided from the main space by a glazed timber screen. White‑oiled oak worktops, painted boarding, task lighting, and a charming corner bench create a functional yet characterful cooking and dining space, and the compact bathroom features on‑trend floor tiles and modern fittings.
