QUIRKY WRITER’S RETREAT

This quirky writer’s retreat — a former fisherman’s cottage set just back from a pebbly cove on the West Dorset coast — was redesigned as a relaxed, light‑filled holiday home with a contemporary family feel. Working within the charm of this thatched Listed cottage and guest barn, we used Purbeck stone floors, reclaimed timber, a bespoke kitchen and a palette of soft greys paired with modern and vintage furniture. The result is a warm, characterful seaside home and writing retreat the clients loved so much that we later worked with them again on their main residence in the South East.
